Jammin' with Ellenbcookery

Strawberry Jam (1), Strawberry Jam (2), Strawberry/Rhubarb Jam, Blueberry Jam
Jammin' in the Ellenbcookery kitchen is over for a few weeks, but it's not over!  Next will be cherries, peaches, apricots, etc.  Whatever I can find at the farmer's market in the weeks to come...

Speaking about the farmers market, we bought 3 more flats of strawberries and used 2 of them to make strawberry jam again.  ~Only this time around, I used an old fashioned recipe inherited from my Momma.

Although the first batch of jam is really tasty, I sure do like this version better.  I'm sure most people wouldn't notice the difference, but I do!
INGREDIENTS:
12 pints of Strawberries
4 cups Sugar
Optional: 1 cup water at very beginning

1.  Bring above to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.
2.  Allow to simmer for a good 2.5 to 3 hours.
3.  Stir constantly to ensure the fruit doesn't stick to the bottom and burn.
4.  Transfer to sterilized jars.

Stores for up to a year.

  3. Ellen thank you for the kind comment on my blog. If it's not too much to ask, I would appreciate if you could write a review on Amazon as well. You don't need to say anything more that what you have already said. Love your jars and strawberry jam is one of my favourite.

    1. My whole family is enjoying your cookbook. Of course I will post a review on Amazon, but I cannot guarantee my review will be the same as on your blog. I only speak from my heart and mean everything I say, whether that's in blog comments or reviews. Consider it done!
