Cabbage Salad with Tomatoes

Cabbage Salad with Tomatoes

This warm cabbage salad is one that my mother-in-law has made repetitively over the years and it is one of her specialties that I will never get sick of eating.  It is absolutely delicious and full of flavour!

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to have learned so many fine recipes from Olga B.  If there's one thing she's well-known for, it would have to be her outstanding skills in the kitchen.

As I was in my cellar the other day, I realized I still had a young organic cabbage that was waiting to be cooked.  I went through my recipe box and found this recipe which calls for large tomatoes, however I didn't have any in stock.  The only tomatoes I had were small ones that I was planning to use in a salad.  With everything closed due to Canada Day, I took the risk and used what I had and the results were amazing.  ~Looks like any tomato will work for this recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
Butter
Onion
Cabbage
2 Carrots
3 Tomatoes
Salt & Pepper (to taste)
Dill  (Optional to garnish)

  2. Yum! I love cabbage but, usually only make it in roll form. I love the idea of having this as a side dish or perhaps adding in some ground turkey for a main dish. Definitely bookmarking this!
